''Creepypasters'': The New Urban Tribe

Oh, the times when the Internet was a more innocent place. The times when a simple character such as Slenderman, a tall, faceless and extremely thin demon that lies in wait in between the woods, could go viral rapidly.

He is a  virtual legend, and also the king of the Creepypastas; short tories sparsed through the net that pretend to scare you positioning you into the victim's shoes, and they have taken the Internet by storm.

Obviously, Slenderman is not the only famous Creepypasta character out there, we can name Jeff The Killer, Ticcy Toby, Masky, Hoodie, Judge Angels, Sally, Bloody Painter... And we could go on for hours, maybe days.

Its fans call themselves Creepypasters. They are generally teenagers, avid readers and really creative, since we can find thousands of fanart works conerning Creepypasta: drawings, short movies, complete animations, songs, AMV, fanficcion, etc.

We have came across with some peculiar aspects about these fans, and they even share a philofy, based on the quotes and lifes of these Creepypasta characters.

My favourite one is from Bloody Painter:

''You shouldn't be excited about tomorrow, because there will be no tomorrow''.

Creepypasters hold that the fun side of life is the creepy one. Moreover, Creepypasters find beautiful and/or inspiring the things that ''normal'' people are scared of.

They looks up to Creepypasta charcters.

What do they like to do?

Some of them believe that Creepypasta characters exist, so they are fond  of ''invoking'' them following guides that are easily found online. They, of course, read new Creepypasta stories and enjoy discovering new characters as well. Creepypasters appreciaciate fanart and create some. Also, they fancy watching horror films or reading horror books apart from Creepypastas. Cosplay (of Creepypasta's characters) is very famous among these urban tribe.

And what type of music do they listen to? They use to enjoy the songs played in AMV (anime music videos) of Creepypastas. These songs are usually rock (symphonic rock, alternative rock, pop rock...) although most of the time it is the Nightcore version (the beat of the song is acelerated and the tone of voice of the singer is high pitched with a program to make it more melodic). These videos can also contain pop songs, which lyrics narrate someone going crazy, killing someone, talking about darkness and madness, etc.
Classical instrumental music is often found in the songs.
However, Creepypasters do not restrict what they listen to to songs related to Creepypastas.

And, the most famous and iconic one:

Style.

Even though they do not wear a specific type of clothing, it is safe to say that Creepypasters practise cosplay  dressing up as a famous character of their favourites Creepypasta's characters in Halloween (or even when it is not, with the aim of having fun).

Nevertheless, they tend to dress darker than the average (without including emos or goths). Creepypasters love to wear Creepypasta merchandise, so it is not weird to see them with a Ben Drowned t-shirt.
Some of them dye their hair black or in fantasy colors.
